New baby, new home

Here is our new family at our new home on August 26, 2011. This was an amazing day walking into our house for the first time as a family of four. We prayed for a year that God would move us into a new home before we had another baby join our family. We moved into our home on August 9 and Elizabeth came into our family on August 22nd. "The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy"!

Elizabeth Ann Frazer! Born August 22, 2011 at 8:08am. Weight: 7lbs. 12oz; Height 21 inches. She is perfect and the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Lots and lots of hair, a beautiful little complexion and makes the sweetest noises. She has long fingers like Dax did, but even her hands are narrow and petite. Everything about her is feminine.

Excitement Abounds!

The last time I posted was Dax's birthday, and a lot has happened since then. We began to prepare our townhome for Elizabeth to arrive and for the four of us to fit in our little 2 bdrm townhome. Dax moved into a big boy bed and we had a huge garage sale to purge and make more space.

Well, two weeks ago we got an offer on our house and went under contract just two days after we received the offer. The next day we went house hunting and found a house that not only had our few non-negotiables, but it had all of the things we have prayed for on our impossible prayer list! Its at the end of a cul-de-sac, 4bdrms upstairs with two more in the basement, and a 3 car garage for my wonderful husband! We are overwhelmed by God's generosity. So we are officially under contract with a new home.

In the month of August we close on our current home on August 3rd, close on our new home August 9th, I turn 30 on August 9th, we welcome 11 staff to our campus ministry here at CU on August 10th, and we welcome our sweet Elizabeth Ann into the world on August 22nd (not to mention that is the first day of school)! We are so excited (and a little overwhelmed)!

Needless to say, my nesting instincts have kicked in and I have officially started preparing for Elizabeth's room. I finished her bedding, which I will post once I put it all together in her crib, and made some fun letters to hang on her wall. So excited for her to join our family!

Dax turns 2!

On May 5th Dax will be 2 years old! Where has the time gone?! We celebrated his birthday with our students at CU this past Friday and had so much fun together. Dax couldn't wait to sink his teeth into the Elmo cake mommy made for him. And his Buddy and Gigi got him a super cool bike called a Strider...moms, check this bike out on line. Its so fun!

This is the bumper I am making for Elizabeth's crib. I have just cut everything out and need to finish a few more pieces before I start sewing together.

Here is the fabric for her bedding. The flower fabric is the crib bumper and the polka dot fabric is the crib skirt. So fun to work on!

Dax loving on mommy! I cannot get enough of this boy and can't imagine what its going to be like with a little girl around the house!

I can't help but show off how beautiful I think my little boy is! Guess I am a proud mommy. He has grown so much since the last time I posted a picture. He is almost 22 months here...2 in May! We can hardly believe two years have already passed. And now Dax is getting ready to be a big brother. He constantly says, "my baby". I can only imagine how big he will look when the new baby arrives sometime late August/early September.

Thanks to my friend, Erin Gross, at church I learned how to make these cute burp cloths. I love homemade things and I love unique things...I am just not so good (yet) at using a sewing machine, but this really helped with my practice. This is a fun and affordable way to give a one-of-a-kind gift to a friend having a baby!

Dax has officially learned to pull himself up on EVERYTHING! There is not a dull moment in our house anymore...well, maybe when he is sleeping, but I like to think of that more as restful instead of dull:)

Dax, this was your first time at the beach! We were in San Destin, FL at a Navigator conference. You were very melancholy the whole time, but you loved being in the water...even though it was pretty cold. You are the cutest ever!

This is very common for you...putting anything and everything in your mouth!

In this picture we stuck you in a box because we were going to ship you to one of your grandparents. You were barely sleeping and were kind of grumpy all the time. Its had to see that in this picture, but its true! Just kidding...we couldn't go a day without you we love you so much!

This was crazy bed head day! You woke up after your morning nap and your hair was everywhere...but, or course, you were happy as can be! You are so full of joy, Dax, and that is what we prayed for you when you were in mommy's tummy!

This is a little run in you had with peas. You kept taking off your bib so mommy decided to just get rid of it. Within seconds you had grabbed a spoonful of peas and wiped it all over yourself. These are some of the funnest moments with you, Dax. Just being silly and not caring about little messes. We love you and you just make us laugh all the time! Look how cute you are! You will notice (in coming posts) that we often stuck you in boxes. Not sure why, but you loved being in a box! Your shirt says, "mommy thinks I'm cool". Its so true! Daddy and I think you are the coolest boy in the whole world...and you're ours!

In October of 2009 we took a 2 week trip to Iowa to fundraise and to see Papa, Nana and all the aunts and uncles and cousins. Here you are sitting with Nana. She hurt her foot and had to sit in a wheel chair, but you didn't mind. You loved getting rides from her around the house. It soothed you even in your grumpiest times. We love Nana and Papa!

The two pictures above are your first encounter with kittens. Nana and Papa had them in their backyard and you were so curious. You just looked at them suspiciously, at first. Then you stuck your fingers in their ears and proceeded to try and put them in your mouth. This isn't uncommon for you...you put every thing in your mouth!

Solid Foods

Here you are eating solid foods...mushy cereal...for the first time. You started eating solids at 5 months and you love it! Now, at 7 months, you eat everything we give you: carrots, green beans, peas, squash, sweet potatoes, spinach and, of course, all kinds of fruit! You are a wonderful little eater, but you still manage to stay long and lean. Thanks for being such a sweet baby!

Okay, so this is long overdo, Dax, but mommy is finally getting around to writing more on your blog. You keep her so busy (since you barely ever sleep) that its hard to find the time to update this "journal". Well, here you are at 4 months when you got your FIRST TWO TEETH! Many people were very surprised, because most babies don't get teeth this early. However, you are a Frazer and Aunt Kelly got her first baby tooth when she was just 3 months. It was not easy to have those teeth break through...we were up during the night for a couple nights as a result. Love you, buddy!

We had an absolute blast at the fair! We ate everything we could get our hands on...I think Dax even put on a few pounds while we were there. Okay, so I officially have the best husband in the world! Yesterday was my 28th birthday...it was a great day! I have been telling Drew about the Iowa State Fair for 5 years now...I LOVE the fair! Only Iowan's understand how great this thing is. This summer I asked Drew to promise me that we'd go back to the fair next summer. Well, inside my birthday card yesterday I was told to pack my bags because we are heading to the Iowa State Fair this weekend! I can't wait. My family camps up there so we are going to get to spend 4 days with them all...eating lots of funnel cakes, fresh squeezed lemonade and cotton candy! Yeah fair! Thanks Drew and Dax...you are the best!

Yeah for date nights! Drew and I have been able to go out a few times this summer just the two of us...thanks for Buddy, Gigi and Aunt Kelly. This date we went and hiked Adam's Falls in Grand Lake...on our way home we saw these two huge bull moose. The other one is bedded down so you can barely see him. We had a great time (even though Dax went a bit ballistic while we were gone, refusing to take a bottle...he loves his mommy). I love my husband and really cherish these times we get together.

3 months old!

Dax-a-do is 3 months old! Everyone told me that after two months things would get easier...I am happy to report that they are correct. Dax hit 2 months and life got so much easier. He is not sleeping 9-10 hours at night, taking great naps during they day, and smiling like a maniac...those these pictures would say otherwise. He seems to be a bit camera shy, and gets pretty focused on the thing in his face rather than his crazy parents who are doing all they can to get him to smile for the camera. He is such a joy and a true reward from the LORD!

Impossible prayer answered!

Not sure why I haven't blogged about this...God definitely deserves praise for this! This spring we had a speaker on campus encouraging us to make an impossible prayer list and really pray in faith. So that night we did. On our way home Drew and discussed what we each had on our list. We each put a family vehicle on our list, because with Dax coming soon we could barely fit our stoller into the trunk...let alone everything else we would need when we travel with him. Well, we spent time praying together as we drove home from Nav Night and asked God to provide us with a family vehicle. THE NEXT MORNING my dad called (he did this secretly between he and Drew) and asked Drew if we were in the market for a family vehicle. NO ONE knew we had just prayed for this the night before, so Drew nearly fell off the bed when my dad asked him that. Drew said we just started praying for one and my dad said, "well, I bought a new Sequoia and instead of trading my old one in I thought you might like to have it since your family is expanding." So when they came out to meet Dax for the first time the surprised me by giving us this 8 passenger amazing vehicle...leather interior, heated seats, sun roof...AMAZING! God continues to do immeasuralby more than we could ask or imagine.

My sister, her husband and their four kids came to visit us in Colorado just before the 4th of July. We had a great time with them...Jack got taken to the hospital after a wild ride on a sheep during Muttin Bustin at the Granby Rodeo...he did get first place though. The first pictures are daddy just being silly with Dax...we were laughing at all the hysterical things we could take pictures of since he can't say "no" yet. He is so fun!

Just a few pictures of the cutest boy ever! I cannot believe its already been 1 month, and yet I feel like Dax has always been with us. Those pics of him smiling aren't just flukes...he smiles all the time!

Here is just a glimpse of Dax falling asleep. Who knows what he is thinking of or seeing in his dreams. We always pray that the LORD would reveal Himself to Dax while he sleeps, and by these smiles we think He is answering our prayers.

New discoveries

Dax has officially discovered his tongue and loves to stick it out and lick his lips all the time. Notice, he clearly has mommy's very big lips...his are a little overexagerated in this pic:)

We also finally have a belly button! Mommy hated waiting for the umbilical cord to dry out...she would rather change a hundred dirty diapers than see that thing again! We love our Dax! We are working hard at getting him on a schedule. Last night he slept for 4 hours than fed and then slept another 4 hours. Mommy feels like a new woman today!

Today, May 14th, 2009, marks the first blowout in the life of Dax Danger Frazer...and let me tell you, it was dangerous! Daddy was holding him and all the sudden I saw poop bubbling out of the back of his diaper. That's when daddy said, "oh, gosh, I think I'm gonna gag!" So we hosed him down and now he as as good as new; cute as ever.

Hey everyone! Here I am! A sweet little boy, weighing in at 7lbs. 10oz., 20 1/2 in. long! I was born on Tuesday morning, May 5th at exactly 1 a.m. in the morning. My mommy had to have a c-section because I was crooked in her. We are all doing great and we love life! My mommy will update more when she is not so tired and sore. Thanks for praying for me so much!

It is late on Saturday night and I am just sitting in the baby's room, praying and preparing my heart for this new phase in our lives. Tomorrow night, Sunday, Drew and I will head into the hospital where they will begin my induction process. LORD willing, we will have a baby sometime on Monday, May 4th. I just want to come to you and ask that you join us in praying for a safe and healthy delivery.

Throughout the latter half of my pregnancy God gave me a verse to be praying over this baby and over my own heart.
1 Samuel 1:27-28
"I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of Him. So now I give him to the LORD. For his whole life he will be given over to the LORD."

There are so many unknowns and what ifs as we come into this new season...starting with whether or not the delivery will be safe and the baby will be healthy. I feel like the LORD is continually reminding me of this verse..."give him/her to Me, Drew and Stacy." We are so excited, so overwhelmed by God's goodness in keeping this baby safe for all these months, and so overjoyed at this baby joining our lives. Yet we want open hands to God's will for us; for how He wants to sanctify our lives through this baby.

Will you please pray that we would have hearts fully devoted to trusting the LORD? Thank you so much and we will keep you posted!

40 weeks!

It seems like some great accomplishment to make it to 40 weeks...until you just keep going another day past the due date:). Well, I think these pictures describe how I feel. Actually, I feel great most days, but this day I actually felt quite miserable. I slept half the day away and was pretty achey the rest of the day. We went in for our final doctors appointment this morning. I am 1cm dialated and 60% effaced. Unless I go beforehand, I am getting admitted into the hospital on Sunday evening to try some natural inducing procedures. If I haven't started labor by Monday morning than they will officially induce me. WE CANNOT WAIT! The doc thinks the baby is in the 7lb. range right now. Please keep praying for baby Frazer. LORD willing, the next time I post we will have a baby! Thanks for all your prayers. P.S. sorry for the belly shot, but this "journal" is also for the baby to get to see someday.

OB Update

Well, good news today from my OB, Dr. Christensen. We had our weekly checkup this morning and my blood pressure has gone down. I am praising the LORD for the way He has been taking care of myself and this baby. It was a good time for me to get some forced rest (not something I am very good at when I know there is work to be done), and has really been a reminder that I need to keep getting rest as I get the chance so that I can take care of this baby now and when s/he is born. We got to have an ultrasound today, which was wonderful. It wasn't scheduled, but our Doc couldn't quite tell if the baby was head down or breech. S/he is head down, thank the LORD, but it's face up. So if it doesn't turn between now and labor we could have some added pain in the equation, or need to have a c-section. She gave me some ideas that could help turn the baby over. I am trusting the LORD and asking Him to turn this baby, but there are certainly worse things than a face up baby. It was fun to see the baby so developed and made me even more "anxious" for this sweet little baby to come into our lives. The doc said I was only dialated to the size of the tip of her finger, so she thinks I have a while still. It's good that the Creator of the universe and the Giver of life is in control of when this baby arrives. Thanks again for all your prayers!

37 Weeks

We are in the home stretch...just 3 weeks away from our due date. We are going to our weekly appointments now. The past two weeks my blood pressure has been up...I sympathize with you, Dawn...and if it continues to I might have to be on some form of bed rest. However, I still feel pretty good. Just swollen hands and my body feels extremely heavy. Its a bit challenging to roll over in bed at night and lots of late night trips to the bathroom. I am so thankful for how easy this pregnancy has been. Though I have officially hit the point where labor seems really great. LORD willing this baby will be here within the next few weeks and we will get to see if we have a son or a daughter. Thanks for all your prayers!

YEAH!! The crib is finished! Drew did an incredible job. I love it so much and find myself just standing in the baby's room staring at the crib. I can't wait for a little person to be sleeping in it. Also, my bedding came from some Nav women at CU Boulder. I had a baby shower in February and one Bible study pooled all their money together and bought me the entire set. That was what brought me to tears that day. So sweet and generous!

After weeks of hard work our crib is just a few hours from being done! This is Drew putting on the finish. We are not staining the wood, just putting on a nice lacquer. He has done such a beautiful job. Also, the crib is sitting on two pieces of wood....that is not part of the crib. It is incredible... I am so excited to put everything together. I am 35 weeks so LORD willing it will be soon!

33 Weeks and Counting!

Here is my 33 week picture! Only 7 weeks to go...give or take. We are getting so excited: washing baby clothes, finishing the crib, setting up the room, etc. Today we attended a childbirth class together, which was really fun. We learned how to "hee, hee, hoo". I am also in a breastfeeding class right now, which is fun as I am reading the book Baby Wise. My body is still comfy for the most part...just have to go to the bathroom all the time. However, I am longing more and more for this baby to arrive. I can't wait to know if its a boy or girl, what its name will be, what it looks like, etc. So fun! Please continue praying for a safe pregnancy and delivery. I have been praying Prov. 14:26 lately, "He who fears the LORD has a strong fortress, and in it his children will find refuge". Praying we will fear the LORD more and more, and that our love for the LORD will be a refuge for our children.

Kind of hard to see, but this is my love and some of his Bible study men who graciously agreed to come help Drew work on the crib...it is almost done and looks BEAUTIFUL! I can't wait to show you all the finished product.

Here is a glimpse into our world right now...moving out furniture and moving in baby stuff! Lots of clothes all over the place as I am trying to wash them all now before I get too uncomfortable. Thanks Beth Luebe for the advice to get started now! And thanks to my sister for giving us an overabundance of clothes! I love seeing this room transform...it is making everything so real. I am ready...well, in 7 weeks anyway.

Baby shower

A couple weeks ago my friends here in Colorado threw me a baby shower. It was so sweet and honoring. Lindy Black, a true influencer in my life, shared a brief devotional on becoming a mother. My favorite part was Prov. 14:26 "He who fears the LORD has a strong fortress, and for his children it will be a refuge." Got lots of gifts...my mom got me 1,200 diapers and a lifetime supply of wipes! My mother-in-law got me SO MANY things...which is typical of her generous heart. It was a great day...Thanks Heather and Erin for throwing it. The top pic is of all the Nav staff women from the rocky mountain region who could attend. 4 women in our region are pregnant and expecting within 4 months of each other...so exciting!

2 YEARS!

Drew and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary this week on February 10th! Yeah for being married to the greatest man alive! We had so much fun that day. Drew had planned on us taking a mini-trip overnight, but after I ignorantly made the statement the night before that I was so sick of traveling he quickly changed those plans. We were both VERY happy to stay home. We took the day off of work, went to coffee, read a book together, had lunch together, went to a movie, hung out all afternoon, and then went to our favorite local restaurant that night. It was perfect! Just to be with my sweetheart, no matter when or where, is perfect to me. He is such a gift to me...I could not respect anyone they way I respect Drew! Anyway, I could go on and on about my hero, but I will spare you. Here's to a blessed marriage from the LORD and hopefully 60+ more years together!

Hey everyone! Today we had our 29 week check up. Everything looks great and Baby Frazer is getting bigger and bigger. Today my mother-in-law, Linda, was in town so she got to come and be a part of the appointment. It was so fun to have Gigi here visiting! We now go to appointments every 2 weeks, so d-day is coming quickly. Enoy!

This is LONG overdue, but here is a picture of me and baby Frazer at 27 weeks! Tomorrow, January 27, is exactly 3 months to my due date...not to mention my amazing husband's 32nd birthday! I love being pregnant, and can't wait to find out if its a boy or girl. My mom, sister- in -law and the Hannemans think its a boy, but my good friend Rosie is convinced its a girl. I guess they each have a 50/50 chance. I will try and do better with my pics since they time is running short. I only have 1 more 4 week appointment on FEb. 13 and then I move to appointments every 2 weeks. So exciting. When my doctor told me that at my last appt. I just started crying I was so excited...and a bit overwhelmed that it has gone this fast. Thanks to all who are praying for us!

The Luebe's

Last night we had the privilege of attending Jim and Beth Luebe's installation as the new collegiate director for The Navigators. We prayed and prayed that Jim would get the position and are so thrilled that the LORD chose him. It was such an encouraging night with messages on keeping Christ the center from Jim Downing, servant leadership from Paul Stanley, Courage from Marvin Campbell and other great speaker. It was really wondering to hear Jim give his response to the invitation to the the director, and here him share about the "least ones" (Is. 60:22) in his life. We love the Luebes! They were with us before we were dating, on our first date, the day we became "boyfriend/girlfriend", the day we were engaged, our wedding day and many days in between. They have been our most significant spiritual mentors, and truly our family. We love you, Luebes!

Baby Frazer update and personal thoughts

Hello dear friends and family who are staying updated! Drew and I had our 21 week check up today and, well, it was amazing. We got to have our big ultrasound (we chose not to find out the gender) and we got to see a little hand waving at us, feet, all four chambers of the heart, and healthy brain, a sweet face, little legs and everything. We even got to see the baby sucking with its little mouth. Right now I am almost in tears as I think about this little miracle. God is so good and so merciful to let this baby grow strong up to this point. We are just asking Him to continue to allow this baby to be healthy and full of joy, and to prepare us for the day s/he enters the world. I am more ready than every to meet this precious gift, but LORD willing not for another 19 weeks!
I am learning so much during this whole process. My body is changing so much that I just have to keep remembering that I am pregnant and it is GOOD to have a continually growing belly. I am so thankful for the changes, because God is creating a safe place for this baby. I am also in this process of "mourning" the loss of my time with Drew. I can't express how thrilled I am for this baby to join our lives, both Drew and I are, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE my husband so much and its a little sad to think that I won't have him all to myself anymore. I think this is a good sadness to be feeling. I love Drew! He is the greatest husband of all time, and I am so excited to do this together! Now you know what's going on in my mind these day...

Yesterday we found out that some dear friends of ours, Justin and Kristin , lost their 2 month old baby, Kara. Kara was born with only 1/3 of her brain and that had anticipated a short life for her...possibly 6 months. Would you join with Drew and I in praying for this sweet family. This is their first baby. Kara is now home with the LORD, which we rejoice in, but we are so saddened for the heartache that Justin and Kristin are experiencing.

Half way there!

Today I am 20 weeks pregnant...and counting! Its so fun to think that I am half way through. I can't imagine the changes that will happen in the coming weeks. Right now I feel the baby pretty frequently. It feels more like bubbles popping in my belly...so sweet. Tuesday, December 16th we go in for our big ultrasound. We've decided not to find out what we are having, but we can't wait to at least see its face and little fingers and toes. I love being pregnant, and am so thankful for every little movement and every day we have this baby.

Tis the season for baking

Well, here are two of my most recent accomplishments. On the left is my post Thanksgiving pumpkin pie and on the right is a cake I decorated for cake class. I have been taking cake decorating classes for the past couple months...I figured I needed a hobby of some sorts. Baking is my outlet so I thought I should try and make it look good, not just taste good.

Thanksgiving with the Billings

We had a great time in Iowa this past week for the Thanksgiving holiday. All my siblings were there, and ALL there kids, and my Uncle George from CA. We arrived on Tuesday and just got back today, Sunday. Every time I am with my family I am reminded more and more of how thankful I am for them. They are the most generous and loving people...and I have the cutest nieces and nephews who are growing up way too fast! Front to back: Drew, me (and baby), Jack, Jasmine, Ally, Ashtyn, David (my bro), Melissa with Megan, Uncle George, dad, mom, Debbie (my sister) with Will, and Danny. What a great crew! With all the chaos of kids running around, Drew and I couldn't believe we were adding another to the bunch...but we can't wait! I will have a 20 wk. belly pic next week.

"Bump" in the night

Well, last night for the first time I felt our little baby Frazer move! Though it is still unreal, it is very exciting and I can't wait to feel it again. I was laying in bed (as I do often right now since I have been sick for 2 weeks) and I pushed a little on my belly, and then I felt a little push right back in the same spot. It's as if the baby was saying, "yes, mom, I am here and doing okay". So, praise God for little movements. Friday I have my 16 week check up (I'll be 17 wks. on Sunday), and am excited to hear the heart beat again, LORD willing.

Our crib came today...sort of!

So, Drew brought our crib home today! Kind of confused? Well, for those of you who know my amazing husband you will not be surprised that he is making our baby's crib one board at a time. Drew got his degree in industrial design and wood working was one of his specialities in design school. I am so excited to see the finished project. But for now, it will just be a stack of wood in our garage. I'll update you all on the progress as he begins to work on it over winter.

So, in the end, this is what the crib will look like. We are so excited and I KNOW Drew is going to do an amazing job. It will be so fun to tell our kids that their dad built their crib, and to get to pass it down one day. I am so thankful for a handy husband!

Journey 2008

This past weekend nearly 50 of our CU Boulder students joined students from all over the Rocky Mountain Region in Estes Park, CO. The theme of our conference was "The Greatest Commandment." It was an awesome weekend of worshipping our King, and seeing our student's hearts deepen in their love for God. Thanks to all of you for praying. I think specifically of Bianca who came this weekend and attended a workshop on scripture memory. She has just begun to memorize scripture and the first verse the workshop leaders asked if anyone knew was the only verse she had memorized so far. It was thrilling to see her come out of that workshop with an even greater desire to put God's Word on her heart. We're so thankful for each and every one of these students, and wish we had time to tell all their stories.

I'm officially a blogger!

This is my first blog! I feel like I am finally getting with the times. My main purpose for this blogsite is to update friends and family that are far away on the progress of our pregnancy. So, here you go everyone. Baby Frazer is 15 weeks along now. Not much to see, but just a little bump.

Just for clarity, we are not finding out the gender of the baby and we are not sharing the names we choose. We decided we'd rather not hear how much, or how little, people liked the name before we decided to use it.

Pregnancy has been a true blessing up to this point. No morning sickness, and I am into my 2nd trimester so I am not tired anymore. This is an incredible journey and a true miracle from God. Thank you, LORD, for each day we have this baby!

Please pray: for the baby to be healthy, for it to be full of joy, and that God would be preparing its little life, even now, to have a great impact for His kingdom! Here is a verses I have been praying: "The LORD called me from the womb, from the body of my mother He named my name. He made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of His hand He hid me. He made me a polished arrow; in His quiver He hid me away. And He said to me, 'you are my servant, in whom I will be glorified'". Isaiah 49:1-3
